By using Salk, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please discontinue use of the App immediately.
1. Eligibility
- Salk is strictly for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
- By creating an account, you affirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding agreements.
- We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or process personal information from minors under 18. Any accounts found to belong to underage users will be terminated and their data deleted promptly.
- Parents or guardians who discover that a minor has accessed the App are encouraged to contact us at service@salk.today so that we can take immediate action.

- Account and Profile Information: Username, email address, password, age confirmation, and any optional profile data you provide (such as display picture, bio, or location).
- User-Generated Content (UGC): Posts, moods, written reflections, comments, likes, and discussions you submit or engage with.
- Device and Technical Data: IP address, device type, operating system, app version, unique identifiers, and usage logs for troubleshooting and analytics.
- Location Information: If enabled, approximate or precise location data to help connect you with users worldwide or provide localized experiences.
- Transactional Information: Purchase history, virtual goods, and payment records if you make in-app purchases.
We collect information directly from you, automatically through your device, and sometimes through third-party service providers assisting us with app functionality.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used to operate, maintain, and improve Salk. Specifically, we may use it to:
- Facilitate account creation, authentication, and profile management.
- Allow you to share moods, reflections, and discussions with others.
- Personalize your experience, including content recommendations, trending moods, and suggested connections.

4. User-Generated Content (UGC)
- You own the rights to the content you create and share on Salk. However, by posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, display, distribute, and promote your content within the App and related promotional channels.
- You are fully responsible for the legality, accuracy, and appropriateness of the content you upload. Prohibited content includes (but is not limited to):
- Hate speech, harassment, threats, or bullying.
- Sexual or sexually exploitative content, especially involving minors.
- Content that promotes self-harm, violence, or illegal activity.
- Intellectual property infringements or impersonation of others.
- Salk reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to review, moderate, edit, or remove content that violates these rules or poses risks to users and the community. Repeat offenders may face suspension or permanent account termination.
5. Data Storage and Security
- We use industry-standard encryption, firewalls, and secure servers to protect your personal data.
- Sensitive information, such as passwords, is stored in encrypted form.
- Access to user data is limited only to authorized personnel who require it for operational purposes.
- While we take all reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure. By using the App, you acknowledge that data transmission and storage carry inherent risks.
- In case of a security breach, we will notify affected users and regulatory authorities in accordance with applicable law.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. However, we may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

- Community Safety: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and harmful activities that could affect the App or its users.
7. Refunds and Purchases
- All purchases made within the App are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law.
- We encourage users to carefully review their purchases before confirming.
- Unauthorized transactions are the responsibility of the account holder. Users must ensure the security of their payment credentials.
- Refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may take into account local consumer protection laws.

- Any material changes will be communicated through the App or via email before they take effect.
